For me, a painting is not the destination. It is a place of encounter.

It grows out of attention to what is happening in the present moment.
In colour, in movement, in the interaction between myself and what is present.
I do not begin with a preconceived idea.
I listen to what is emerging and allow the painting to find its own form.

Once finished, the painting no longer belongs solely to my experience.
The moment you stand before it, a new relationship begins.

It does not tell you what to think or what to feel.
It gives you space.
Space for an encounter of your own.

And perhaps that is where its greatest value lies.
